PAISLEY SCOTLAND

Instead of visiting Glasgow for my shoots, after more than 15 yrs in the area, I decided to take the train to Paisley.  I was amazed at all the old buildings and shops.  I am not being condescending when I say that I had felt that I was transported back to 1985.  I had a great shoot, and only the rain in the latter part of the day ruined my nice experience.  Alan's fish and chip shop had a great early 20th century look but  I didn't take any interior shots this time.

GLASGA II

Day in Glasgow digital with Photoshop to correct way out exposures!  The plan was to do amazing street portraits, but landed up reshooting some of my fav images I had made with my film cameras. Oh well....

Graveyard shift

After working with the Leica M6 and M2, |I decided after 30 yrs of photography to go serious Leica Digital.  Although the X1 is a very enjoyable camera to use (except poor low light focus and no proper macro), I felt that the process of scanning my film was becoming too much of a headache.  Poor excuse.  The following are my first shots with the Leica M9P.  It is very similar to the M6 and  I found the winding shutter sound pretty subdued. Although criticism around the poor screen res and the set button being on the opposite side of the wheel is valid, I feel that it is just Leica saying that if you really want to ditch film for digital, we have put in a few annoyances in your digital M6 to make you feel bad.  As a camera, I felt just at home with it, even reaching for the film winder once in a while.  Even second hand it is over priced, but so is the MP. But in truth, film cameras still rule.

Fuji Superior 200 scans from Asda.  Poor resolution, less than 1 mb but good enough for the web.
