S.P.Q.R

Since my last post,  I have been doing some travelling to London and to Italy (Rome and the East coast).  I have titled this post SPQR because these pics are from  around a week of shooting photographs. One minor theme around the SPQR (from the Latin) used to mark areas to display posters.  I don't blame you if you get a little weary after a while looking at nothing but torn posters! Next blog will include more from ROMA

PAISLEY SHOP FRONTS

During my shoot in Paisley, I noticed that many of the empty shops had the windows covered in images of merchandise.  This is Renfrew council's attempt to encourage people to open up their own shop.  The fake shops would trigger the prospective shop keepers imagination.  I see it as the new city centre, where all these fake shops exist in town, while our true shopping experience becomes virtual with amazon or ebay.  I think these shops could have passed as an  environmental art student's final project (maybe).
