Grave Issue

There is a cemetery near my work, and have taken quite a few shots there over the years.  Went to Dayanita Singh exhibition at the Hayward Gallery London and was impressed with the poetic approach to documentary photography.  Also the 'Portable Museum' approach to presentation was powerful.  The fine artist Ana Mendieta also used a variety of media to document her outline for social/historical significance.  Lots of time was required to study the work, which I was struggling with.  Will upload British Museum  and other London photos soon.

Fleeting and Permanence A great book is a thin book by the french philosopher Roland Barthes 'Camera Lucida', which explores how photography catches our attention triggering memories and emotions.

City Centre and Necropolis

The following shots are cityscapes and a from a visit to the Necropolis

Three themes: High Street; Velvia C41; Orange Walk

This post consists of six rolls of colour film including one roll of Fuji Velvia processed in C-41. In error I didn't load the Velvia film  in the camera properly, which created some 'creative' light leaks.  With some evening class students we visited the Necropolis and the Cathedral. On the way back we stumbled upon an early Orange Walk. The other photos were taken during  a sunny Tuesday mornings in 'High Street'. A place that will require a return visit soon. The 'High Street' Shots are first here on the blog, followed by the day out to Necropolis and Orange parade.
