Failures of the Modern Man

Although the blog title does not reflect my opinion on any particular person featured in these photos, when taking photographs of the modern city, my photos are not exactly flattering. However, the city is full of creative photographic potential.  These examples are from five rolls of a film, and for you film buffs around, I was able to process a roll of slide film in C-41 at my local supermarket without any problem!  The examples shown are the last images depicting the interiors of empty shops (last few images).

On the road again....

For all you viewers and followers (1) (thanks Cheryl!), the reason I haven't updated the blog is because I had problems accessing it ie getting my password renewed etc...  Anyways, to be honest I haven't shot much.  I do have six rolls of colour and eleven rolls of B/W to process, so  I hope to show them soon.  I have been tempted to get the fancy Nikon D600, but decided to stick with my Leica film cameras for the moment,  as I do feel very  comfortable with them, and a photographer should feel at ease.  I was looking at Walker Evans book today and it really reveals that he was one of the main forerunners of today's American photography (Meyerowitz) and Art (Andy Warhole). His ability to go from 35mm to 8X10 sheet film also reminds me of where I got my interest in shooting in various formats.  Unfortunately, for me, it meant I am a Jack of all trades and master of none.  Need to dig out my 10x8 and 5X7 camera as I have had loads of film in the freezer waiting to be used for the past fifteen years!
I will start using this blog not as a diary or my meandering thoughts, but as a reference of Artists that I enjoy looking into.  End of Diary.
